How do you finish 3-days of racing at Ultraman Can

How do you finish 3-days of racing at Ultraman Canada? I coach Kyle who just won Ultraman Canada. I was also on his 3-person support crew alongside his wife Heather and Uncle Pete!! We experienced nutrition first hand. It was literally 3 days of The Feed!! You won’t make it to day 3 without proper nutrition. Over those days, Kyle relied on Precision Fuel and Hydration Carb mix and chews and Skratch electrolytes and some SIS gels and a lot of water and sunscreen and TLC from his crew! The goal was KKM. Keep Kyle Moving! And he did! And he won with a negative split double marathon 4:11 and 4:02. I am so proud!! #thefeedjuly

Weekend of racing joy at both Lake of Bays Brewing Co. IRONMAN 70.3 Muskoka and Challenge Roth. Way to go Evan and Jeremy on your first ever 70.3. Bravo to Rob with 5th AG after a 10 year triathlon break. And Christine and Darlene winning their AG and all 3 winning spots to the Ironman 70.3 World Championships 2027! And thanks to Innovatex and ASICS for for our new LBT shirts!! And across the pond, Glenn raced and loved Challenge Roth. And I got to both coach and work at the race and share in the joy of the Ironman athletes and the Egg Farmers of Ontario Iron kids run! And spend time with my sister and the pups and Dave too. Triathlon is family.

I tend to order my usual fuel from @thefeed but I am now adding Creatine from Momentous delivered from the Feed. 5 mg per day in my warm FlavaNaturals cocoa drink. It take about a month to notice a difference but the research supports this supplementation for muscular function and brain function. So far so good! My other supplements include Calcium, Vitamin D. Fish Oil and antioxidants. #thefeedjune

Food is fuel was pretty clear last week when I had

Food is fuel was pretty clear last week when I had to fast for 50 hours for my colonoscopy. People with CF have to do double the prep so that meant 2 days of clear fluids and 8 total liters of the prep ‘juice’. I could fake exercise on day 1 but by day 2, my body was not firing. I used Skratch electrolytes and veggie broth as my staples. After the procedure, the first thing I ate was a Clif Builder Bar from The Feed. Now I am back to my usual training and fueling with @maurten_official and @clifbar and @lairdsuperfood Trust me, don’t neglect your fueling. I was so weak after 50 hours of clear fluids only. Grateful for food and fuel. #thefeedmay @thefeed

Test driving the new ASICS Nimbus 28. So responsive. Soft landing. Floating. Super soft lacing system. I love a tight shoe but the laces and tongue are elastic like and make a tight shoe feel soft. Let’s go Boston! Make the waiting to start its own race. Make friends. Make it an adventure. Don’t run faster than marathon pace in the first hour. You cannot back time on this course. The downhills load the quads and that bites in the last 10k. And be ready for a rough last 10k. The quads are sore. Muscles aren’t firing properly. Be stronger than ever! Commit to the finish. Be great!!

The best strength routine in the one you do. Remove all barriers. Have some simple equipment at home: kettlebells, dumbbells, Pilates ring, bands, medicine ball, physio ball. My quick routine is KB deadlifts with straight legs, goblet squats holding KB at chest, KB swings (pinch those butt cheeks), squats with biceps curl and dumbbell overhead press, renegade rows, Lunges with dumbbells in the air, reverse lunges, band work for quads and hips, adductor work with Pilates ring, wall stands with Pilates ring, hamstring curls with physio ball done as a bridge, bridging on ball, foot work with feet on ball, toe raises and eccentric heel drops. Core and mobility. Will post a few YouTube videos. @thefeed #welcometothefeed

Lisa Bentley raced for 20 years as a professional triathlete. In the course of her career, she has won 11 IRONMAN races, 11 IRONMAN 70.3 races (1/2 IRONMAN), several top 5 finishes at the IRONMAN World Championships, represented Canada on multiple National Teams and at the Pan American Games and was ranked top 5 in the world for a decade. She competed at the highest level despite having Cystic Fibrosis – a genetic lung disease resulting in chronic infections and limited lung capacity. Her CF was very controllable for much of her career and ironically, Lisa saw it as a blessing, which fuelled her passion for sport and excellence. In Lisa’s words, “every time I raced, I knew that my race served a higher purpose to give families hope that their children with CF could achieve similar things in life. And sport kept my lungs healthy so it was a double blessing!”
